New cell phone warning!

For those of you who use your bra as a convenient place to store your cell phone, please think again. Several breast cancer surgeons who are concerned about this got together recently and found that young women with no genetic markers for breast cancer had been diagnosed with unusual breast tumors. The only thing they had in common was that they kept their cell phones in their bras. One MRI actually showed the antenna!

If you read the fine print in your cell phone manual it tells you not to hold it directly to your body- if you do, it says you may absorb more than the allowable level of radiation. Considering that our FCC exposure limits do not properly protect us to begin with, this is quite alarming.

Please spread the word during breast cancer awareness month- and this goes for men too- do not keep your cell phone in your bra or your breast pocket. Thanks!

There are many things we do for our kids that help protect them from injury and illness in current time. But have you given thought to what things in your home may be affecting your child’s biological growth and could surface as serious health issues years from now? Of course, that is more difficult to imagine but something we should be concerned with on a daily basis.

So, they wear helmets and seatbelts and many of you feed them only organic food. There is an invisible health threat in every home and that is wireless radiation. Just because it is invisible does not mean it is not there. If you could see it, you would be appalled. There is excellent science showing this has a biological effect on children which could lead to serious illness decades from now. Although media may be telling you otherwise, let’s err on the side of caution. They are many simple things we can do to protect our children and ourselves.

Alan’s tip of the day:

Replace your portable cordless home phones with corded phones. Cordless home phones radiate from the base station and the receivers and the DECT phones are the most dangerous. This is simple and you will be cutting the radiation level in your home by doing so. Corded home phones are available at any of the big box stores and are not very costly. The conservative World Health Organization classified this non-ionizing radiation a possible carcinogen in 2011. It is in the same category as diesel exhaust.
